Fun stuff
Here is a photo of the pieces I made today. I have been trying to make some pots for a gallery exhibit that I have been asked to participate in. The show is in Greensboro, in mid July. Later this week I will probably start throwing backstock for the fall shows. Next week I hope to start glazing for the exhibit and for the Great American Pottery Show.

Teapot
This teapot is my favorite piece made today. The handle was inspired by a photo seen in an old issue of ceramics monthly. The artist was Fong Choo. The thing I love about making teapots is that there seems to be endless possiblities in the design.

Las Vegas
Just got back from Las Vegas. This is a photo of my husband and I at the Venetian Grand Canal Shops. Visited Zion National Park as well as Hoover Dam. Had a great time. Today I got back to work and finished putting slip trail on pieces and loading the bisque load.

Honorable Mention
Tonight I went with my friend Lynda to the Mint Hill Arts Reception. I was so excited that I had received an honorable mention for my coffee pot. Today I didn't make anything, but I spent a good portion of the day working on our guilds blog. Then I decided to change my background on my blog. I would love to hear comments on whether or not it is a good change.

Two or more parts
Been busy making pots this week. Today I made a teapot, covered jar, vase, 2 candy dishes and a chip and dip bowl. It doesn't sound like much but all but the vase had at least two parts and the teapot has 4. So, it took more detailing than usual. I have been in the mood to try new things this week. I can't wait to glaze some of these pieces. I have some new glazes I want to try out.

Calla Lily Finished
The last glaze load came out last night. Here is a photo of two of the tall vases that came out. The piece on the right is supposed to mimic a calla lily. I have decided to keep these to put on small shelves on either side of my china hutch. I will be packing up the rest of my pieces today to get ready for the Piedmont Pottery Festival in Eden, NC this weekend.
