ABOUT ME

Hello,

I am a decorative and functional potter. I grew up in Montana and later moved to North Carolina.  Twenty five years ago I got married and we have two boys (17 & 22).  When not working we like to spend time at our cabin in the Carolina mountains.  Check out the cabin blog.

My journey into clay began with my love of all things beautiful (art, music, nature). After taking a pottery class I fell in love with creating beautiful things out of clay.  The stoneware pieces are fired in an electric kiln to Cone 5. Depth of color is achieved by layering on glazes using a variety of techniques. I try to make all  vases unique and you should not find any two alike.

New Day Pottery can be found at exhibits around North Carolina and in various galleries. Check out the show or gallery page for more information.  I also sell pottery online via Etsy and take custom orders as well.

I continue to develop my body of work by attending the North Carolina Pottery Conference and local workshops hosted by the local pottery guild.
